He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence McIntire and Doris McIntire; his sister Sharon; his brother-in-law Bill Abbott; his grandsons, James Wallace and Christopher "Butch" Waggy; his great grandchild Jessilynn "Ali" Brown; and his pet Bandit.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Jeanette Abernathy; his daughters, Joye Konig (Scott), Lisa Wimmer (Andy) and Thomasina Wrangham (Brian); his grandchildren, Jennifer Southerland (William), Stephen Konig (Jenna), Alysha Street (Dallas), Scott Wallace (Ashley), Jeffrey Wallace (Samantha), Lauren Forrester (Austin), Samuel Konig, Brady Wrangham and Brant Wrangham (Chelsea); his brother James McIntire (Kathryn); and his brother-in-law Kenneth Abernathy (Colin Kelly). He is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Marion National Cemetery (1700 E 38th St, Marion, IN 46953).
