She was predeceased by: her parents, Marion Clair "Smokey" and Nellie "Joyce" Burgess (Hopton); her husband Mark Christian Mathis; and her uncles, William Hopton (Bill) and Ronnie Hopton.
She is survived by: her son Sean Mathis; her daughter-in-law Krista; her cousins, Debbie Hopton Lindley, Patricia Hopton Sorrell, Kim Hopton Card, Tracey Hopton-Williams, Chris Hopton, Ronnie Turner and Lana Hendricks; and her brothers-in-law, Warren Mathis (Susan), Dean Mathis (Amy) and Byron Mathis. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Nebo Memorial Park (3295 IN-252, Martinsville, IN 46151).
