She was predeceased by: her husband Chuck Johnston; her son Terry Lane Ward; her parents, Clarence and Mary; and her siblings, Larry Short, Gary Short, Clarence Short, Maxine Seale and Shirley Hunt.
She is survived by: her daughter Sherry "Sher" Ward Smith; her stepdaughter Cindy Sheeks (Mike); her grandchildren, John-Taylor Ward Smith (Lauren), Audrey-Layne Mary Snyder (Levi), Nathan Allen Ward Crumley, Corey Lane Ward, Joey Robert Ward (Taunda), Melissa Jin Joffee, Emily Sheeks and Abigail "Abby" Sheeks; her great grandchildren, Alexis Ward, Avy Lewis, Allen Ward, Alonnah Sutton, Aria Snyder, Ash Kidd, Ryker Snyder, Kellan Smith, Connor Smith and Gabe Ward; her great great grandchildren, Augustus Ward and Zelma Martinez; and her siblings, Barbara Surber, Carl Short, Cornell Short (Wanda), Louise Lee, Darrell Short (Kris) and Sandy Skiles.
