He was predeceased by: his wife Joan Ellen Cox; and his sister Marilyn. He is survived by: his children, Marilyn (Michael Hockey) and Robert Cox; his granddaughters, Michelle (Stephen), Erica, Kendra (Logan), Briana (Barrett) and Amber (Shaun); his great grandchildren, Joshua, Charlotte, Evee, Ivy, Audrey, Holland and Rowan; and his sister Barbara (John Faul). He is also survived by his numerous nieces, nephews.
The family would also like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Matthews House Hospice Foundation for the outstanding care provided to Doug. Donations to Matthews House would also be greatly appreciated by the family.
