He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph R. Sitzman and Hildreth Sitzman (Siefert); and his son Joseph Michael Sitzman. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Moutoux; his children, Elizabeth Ann Burns (Richard), John Robert Sitzman (Amy), James Alan Sitzman (Shirley), Kathleen Marie Koers (Steve) and Douglas Edward Sitzman (Julia); his daughter-in-law Julie Sitzman McKenzie; and his sisters, Gail Marie Westhoven and Jane Ellen Clark. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.
