He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Vail and Edna Vail (Bergner); his grandson Tyler Vail; his brother Howard; and his sister-in-law Marylen Vail.
He is survived by: his son Brett Vail (Stephanie); his grandchildren, Breanna Herbst (Blake) and Travis Vail (Brooke Osborne); and his great grandchildren, Caia Vail, Chesney Herbst and Paisley Herbst.
