She was predeceased by: her husband Elmer Joseph Popp; her parents, Frank Rake and Emma Rake; and her siblings, Edward Rake and Dolores Rake-Bachman.
She is survived by: her daughters, Kathleen Popp and Rosemary Sanders (Popp); her grandchildren, Kevin L. Sanders (Emily), Jenna R. Sanders and Nolan R. Sanders (Courtney); her great grandchildren, Maya Wisman-Farmer, Avalynn Wisman-Farmer, Weston Sanders, Anderson Sanders, Brinley Sanders, Annistyn Sanders and Mariah Sanders; and her sister Bernice Kleehamer.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Garr Funeral Home (7806 Hwy 311, Sellersburg, IN 47172). A rosary was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 7:30 PM. A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the St. John Paul II Catholic Church (2605 W St Joe Rd, Sellersburg, IN 47172). She actively participated in church activities such as the Church Turkey Shoot, contributing her time from 1957 until the events were halted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The family asks that donations be made to St. Joe Hill Catholic Cemetery Fund and Bristol Hospice of New Albany, Indiana.
