He was predeceased by: his father Michael Hamang; his brother Dr. Peter Hamang; and his nephew Peter Michael Hamang II. He is survived by: his mother Josephine Hamang; his children, Sarah Hamang (Jacob Fisk) of Washington, D. C., Mariah Sawyer of Chicago Heights, IL and Austin Hamang of Chicago Heights, IL; his granddaughter Lyoll; and his siblings, Michael Hamang Jr. (Tracey), Michele Shalla (Steven), Julie Hamann (John), Bridget Gates (Kevin) and Michaelene Hamang.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre (606 E 113th Ave, Crown Point, IN 46307). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church (801 W 73rd Ave, Merrillville, IN 46410).
