He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Barbara Gonczy of Rensselaer, IN; his children, Bob Gonczy (Diane) of Morocco, IN, Donald Gonczy of Lafayette, IN, Ronald Gonczy (Tammy) of Morocco, IN and Robyn Kormendy (Derek) of Morocco, IN.; his siblings, Elizabeth Boyd and Louis Gonczy (Carma); his daughter Barbara Renee Gonczy; his parents, Louis Gonczy and Elizabeth Gonczy (Dickenson); and his brothers, Michael, Patrick and Charlie Gonczy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lake Village American Legion.
