Shirley J. Kastens Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley J. Kastens in Miami, Indiana, who passed away on January 3, 2026 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Gardner and Dorothy Gardner; her husband Billy Kastens; her brother Thomas Gardner; and her sons-in-law, Randy Woodard and Russell Schenck.

She is survived by: her daughters, Virginia "Ginny" Schenck and Cynthia "Cindy" Schmidt (Ronald); her grandchildren, Jason Woodard (Lindsay), Traci Sagester (Josh), Anthony "Tony" Schmidt (Rilea) and Austin Schmidt (Molly); her great grandchildren, Alexa Woodard, Rylee Sagester, Trey Sagester, Ella Hawk, Shelby Sagester, Jake Woodard and Theo Schmidt; and her sister-in-law Nancy Gardner. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
