It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Charles E. Vrtis of Michigan City, Indiana, born in Oak Park, Illinois, who passed away on March 15, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Vrtis and Anna Vrtis (Kucera); and his siblings, Cecilia, Susan and Thomas.

He is survived by: his wife Joan Wozniak Vrtis; his sons, Charles M of Portland and Vincent of Michigan City; his grandson Jackson of Portland, Oregon; and his siblings, Martha, Mildred, Mary and John. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorials may be made to Queen of All Saints Church or Alzheimers Research Foundation.
