He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph M. Root and Margaret R. Root (Biever); his son David Root; and his brother Dr. John Root. He is survived by: his children, Thomas W. Root (late Carol L.), Linda M. Zeese (Mark), Brian W. Root (Dana) and Kristy M. Bardol (Chris); his grandchildren, Kelli, Aaron, Kerry Zeese, Madison, Connor J. Root, McKenzie, Cormack, Sean and Riggs Bardol; and his wife Carol (Goralski).
