He is survived by : his children, Wanda Schmucker (Robert) of Goshen, Mary Schlabach (Larry) of Goshen, Vera Helmuth (Howard) of Millersburg, Marilyn Nisley (Gerald) of Goshen, Ida Sue Eash (Galen) of Middlebury, Dorothy Bontrager (Ralph O.) of Middlebury, Lorene Bontrager (John D.) of Middlebury, Ruby Burkholder (Marlin) of Millersburg, Marlin Bontrager (Loretta) of LaGrange, Harley Bontrager (Carolyn) of Middlebury, Rudy Bontrager (Wilma) of Millersburg, David Bontrager Jr. (Luetta) of Middlebury and Daniel Bontrager (Sue Ann) of Panama City, FL; his stepchildren, Etta Fern Bontrager (Andy E.) of Goshen, Marlene Kay Mishler (John Ray) of Shipshewana, Ruby Arlene Miller (Marlin Dean) of Goshen, Waneta Sue Bontrager (Joseph) of Middlebury, Nelson O. Yoder (Karen) of Sturgis, MI, Paul O. Yoder (Brittany) of Mill Spring, NC, Joseph O. Yoder (Rhoda) of LaGrange and Alvin O. Yoder of Elkhart; and his siblings, Vernon Bontrager (late Katie) of Topeka, Daniel Bontrager (Alice) of Goshen, Anna Mae Schlabach (Omer) of Middlebury, Sarah Chupp (Ervin) of Shipshewana, Katie Bontrager (David) of Shipshewana, Mary Lehman (Orva) of Middlebury, Velda Miller (Ed) of Goshen, Edna Mast (Clarence) of Goshen and Betty Miller (Richard) of Goshen. He is also survived by 96 grandchildren; 44 step-grandchildren; 115 great-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 2nd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, May 3rd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Family Residence (10138 Co Rd 18, Middlebury, IN 46540). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 4th 2024 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, May 4th 2024 at the Forks Cemetery (10905 W 050 N, Middlebury, IN 46540).
