We are sad to announce that on January 29, 2022, at the age of 90, Howard Melvin Hamer of Milroy, Indiana, born in Decatur, Indiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles E. Hamer (John) and Ethel Hamer (McGee); his spouse Shirley A. Downey; his stepmother Mary Hamer; and his siblings, Charles Robert, Floyd Earl Hamer and Dorothy Evelyn Hamer.

He is survived by : his sons, Randy Hamer (Sally) of Greensburg, Ron Hamer (Mary) of Greensburg, Brian Hamer (Tracy) of Greensburg and Bruce Hamer (Kathryn) of Greensburg. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 a. m. until time of service at 12:00 p. m. We ask visitors to follow social distancing guidelines once inside the funeral home and masks are recommended.

Memorial contributions may be made to through the funeral home to Milroy EMS or to the Margaret Mary Hospice.
