It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alasdair Chalmers MacIntyre of Mishawaka, Indiana, who passed away on May 21, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Alasdair Chalmers has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Eneas John MacIntyre and Margaret Chalmers MacIntyre. He is survived by: his wife Lynn Sumida Joy; his sister Joyce McCracken of Ayr, Scotland.; and his children, Jean MacIntyre (England) of Norwich, Daniel MacIntyre, Helen MacIntyre of Brighton, England., Sacha MacIntyre, Fred Waine, Grace Waine and Sam MacIntyre.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Kaniewski Funeral Home (3545 N Bendix Dr, South Bend, IN 46628). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
