She was predeceased by: her parents, Jerome DeWeirdt and Eva DeWeirdt (Pletcher); her siblings, Germaine DeWispelaere, Evelyn DeWeirdt, Leona Burkus and Robert DeWeirdt; and her husband Ervin J. Sobecki.

She is survived by: her sons, Ronald Sobecki (Donna) of Greenwood and Kirk Sobecki (Deanna) of Bremen, Indiana; her grandchildren, Katie, Sarah, Nicholas, Christopher and Emily; and her great grandchildren, Scarlett, Piper and Alexander.
