He was predeceased by: his parents, George Dakins and Mae Dakins (Clendenning); his daughter Gail Dakins; and his sister Cleo Dakins. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Louise Steenbeke; his children, David Dakins (Jeri) of Port Charlotte, Paul Dakins (Jenny) of Mishawaka, Susan Dakins of Mishawaka, Jackie LeSage (Eric) of Elmhurst and Kimberly Woelfel (Robert) of Acworth, Georgia.; his grandchildren, Nicholas (Manda Dixon), Abigail, Sawyer, Hunter and Logan; his great grandchild Chloe; and his sisters, Diane Goeller (John) of Mishawaka and Nancy Snyder (Jim) of Mishawaka.
In his memory, donations may be made to the US Department of Veterans Affairs, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka, or the Center for Hospice.
