She was predeceased by: her parents, Francis Henry and Hazel Mae Taylor (Fluckey); her husband Walter VanGundy; and her siblings, Lucille Richards, Elsie Sauer and Orra Taylor.

She is survived by: her children, Judy Nye of Spring Hill, Florida, Rex VanGundy of South Bend, Indiana and Paul VanGundy (Kathy) of South Bend, Indiana; and her grandchildren, Tracey VanGundy, Tina Morales (Joe), Jason Heritz, Jamie Downs (Brian), Paul VanGundy and Matt VanGundy (Cindy). She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren.
