He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Darling and Loraine Darling (Hutton); his sons, Craig Shreve, Kenneth Shreve and Ronald Shreve; his grandson Kevin Darling; and his brothers, Jack and Larry Darling.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley Darling (Vicsek); and his children, Vickie Lynn Darling of Kissimmee and Jerry Darling, Jr. (Ada) of Lawrence. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
