She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy P. Matthias and Bontia M. Matthias (Tharpe); her father-in-law Duane C. Tibbs (Cecilia); her sister Bonnie Mae Hicks (Charles); and her sibling's children, Chuck Hicks and Marie Bryant.

She is survived by: her husband Duane Tibbs; her sons, Jeff Tibbs (Jennifer) and Doug Tibbs (Brandy); her grandchildren, Ethan, Abigale, Liam, Layla, Logan and Layne Tibbs; her siblings, Roy Mathias (Carolyn), Gail Goff and Allen Matthias; her siblings' children, Kelly Revell (Stephen), Anita Coates (Kyle) and Chris Hicks; and her sister-in-law Cindy Tibbs.

Donations in Jewel's honor may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
