He was predeceased by: his parents, William H. Ipe and Diva Lucy Carnoy (Fanti); his stepfather Charles Carnoy; his children, Debra Ipe Williams and James J. Ipe; and his sister Norma Wilcox.
He is survived by: his wife Emma Barfell; his children, Christina Mentel (Rick) and William Ipe (Laura); and his grandchildren, Kimberly A. Johnson, Tracy L. Schidler, Jennifer L. Winebrenner, Thomas L. Brown, Melissa A. Meister and Cassandra M. Hamilton.
