He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin York and Rosa Bell York (Corbin); his wife Edna Mae Emberton; and his sibling Fayette York. He is survived by: his children, Barbara Sue York of Mitchell, Linda Kay Brown of Mitchell and Michael Irvin York (Elaine) of Palmyra; his grandchildren, Tygr Northup (Ace), Christopher Michael York (Trinka), Isaac Brown (Sanna) and Sarah Beth Lee; and his siblings, Joe York of Bedford, Pauline Faran, Sellie York, Eugene York and Homer York. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Chastain Funeral Home (705 W Warren St, Mitchell, IN 47446). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home (705 W Warren St, Mitchell, IN 47446). A burial will be held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 at the Mitchell Cemetery (1315 W Brook St, Mitchell, IN 47446).
