It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles Wayne Higgs of Mitchell, Indiana, who passed away on August 2, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Jackson and Nola Blanche Higgs (Skaggs); and his siblings, Anna Louise Grissom Higgs, Vanda Cooper, Jack Higgs and Alvin Higgs.
He is survived by: his wife Iva Higgs of Mitchell; and his children, Keegan Higgs (Tessa) of Paoli, Brady Johnston (Emily) of Anderson, Alexis Wethington (Kyle) of Anderson, James Martin of Anderson, Alicia Riddle of Noblesville and Alisa Martin of Sulphur Springs. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Chastain Funeral Home (705 W Warren St, Mitchell, IN 47446). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center (705 W Warren St, Mitchell, IN 47446). A burial will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 at the Mitchell Cemetery (1315 W Brook St, Mitchell, IN 47446).
