With heavy hearts, we announce the death of David Eugene Duncan of Mitchell, Indiana, who passed away on September 13, 2025 at the age of 77. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of David Eugene Duncan to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Duncan and Helen Margaret Duncan (Hickman); his daughter Michelle Duncan; and his brother Charlie Duncan. He is survived by: his wife Dawn Duncan of Mitchell; his children, Brian Duncan (Morgan) of Mitchell, Erin Cheney (Nathan) of Mitchell, Brea Blackwell (Josh) of Mitchell and Kinsley Hardwick (Braxtan) of Mitchell; his grandchildren, Ashley Terpstra (Will), Alyssa Duncan (Logan), Caleb Cheney, Luke Cheney, Eli Cheney, Nolan Cheney, Nora Blackwell, Emma Blackwell, Savannah Brock, Bryleigh McKnight, Rhett Duncan and Grayson Vance; and his great grandchildren, Alexis Duncan, Luna Terpstra and Leon Terpstra.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 16th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Chastain Funeral Home (705 W Warren St, Mitchell, IN 47446). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center (705 W Warren St, Mitchell, IN 47446). A burial was held on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 at the Bonds Chapel Cemetery.
Since this will be his first missed festival, in lieu of flowers, we encourage donations to be made in Dee's name to purchase ride armbands for kids in need. Checks can be made payable to Dawn Duncan.
