James William Wires Obituary

We are sad to announce that, on May 26, 2026 we had to say goodbye to James William Wires of Mitchell, Indiana. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

Though James William may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those James William touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Lewis and Audna Wires; and his parents, Walter Carter and Fern Carter. He is survived by: his wife Waneta Mann; his daughter Jamie of Orleans; his grandsons, Jason Mosier (Hannah) of Mitchell, Jacob Wires (Hannah) of Orleans and Corey Fullen (Alyssa) of Orleans; and his brother Ed Wires (Jean) of Bedford. He is also survived by two nephews, three great nieces and one great nephew.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services or Marion Township Rural Fire Department.
