He was predeceased by: his significant other Sue Wilkerson. He is survived by: his parent Mary Elizabeth Lucas (Basinger). He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his long-time partner's children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center (705 W Warren St, Mitchell, IN 47446). A burial will be held on Wednesday, September 3rd 2025 at the Lawrenceport Cemetery (1004 Lawrenceport Main, Mitchell, IN 47446).
