He is survived by: his children, Rick Messman (Carla) of Monroeville, Indiana, Beth Messman (Todd Wagner) of Monroeville, Indiana, Becky Gerardot (Jeff) of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Ryan Messman (Aimee) of Monroeville, Indiana; his siblings, Joyce Copsey of Antwerp, Ohio, Joan Murlin (John) of Antwerp, Ohio, Judith Hunt of Antwerp, Ohio, Janet Palmer of Woodburn, Indiana, Jeanne Worden (Gene) of Auburn, Indiana, Janelle Ulmer (Jeff) of New Haven, Indiana and Gary Messman (Jane) of New Haven, Indiana; his grandchildren, Cassie Messman, Alicia Luginbill (Jarod), Justin Messman, Maryssa Cotter (Marc), Jakob Kitzmiller, Jared Gerardot, Taylor Gerardot, Erika Gerardot, Liliann Messman and Clayten Messman; and his great grandchildren, Landen Sallee, Arlen Luginbill, Wren Luginbill, Marc Cotter, Louis Cotter and Cecilia Cotter.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Louis Catholic Church (15535 Lincoln Hwy E, New Haven, IN 46774). A Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
Preferred memorials may be given to St. Louis Catholic Church, Besancon or the Heritage Lion's Club.
