He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Jones Ashley Sr. and Susie Mae Gentry (Cook); his stepfather George Gentry; and his brother Ronnie Gentry. He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Pat" Ashley; his son Doug Ashley (Charlotte); his grandson Drake Ashley (Andrew); his son Darrell Ashley (Becky); his grandsons, Derrick, Brandon and Tyler Bartee; Jimmy Shields. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren.
