He was predeceased by: his father Avery Leonard Lee; and his wife Barbara Joan Lee (Daniels). He is survived by: his children, Nancy Smith, Timothy Lee (Jessie), Virginia Lee McClatchey (Leon) and Brenda Sue Lee; his stepchildren, Ricky Brock (Julie), DeEtta Shands (Teddy), Donna Jeffries (James), Kathy Watson (Michael-Kevin), Claytina Morley (Rex) and Tammy Williams; and his siblings, Danny, Larry and Sue. He is also survived by 66 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
