He was predeceased by: his parents, Isaac Benton "Ike" and Mildred Blanche "Millie" Brooks (Rowland); his siblings, Sheila Danford and Larry D. Brooks; his son-in-law Bruce McCormick; and his brother-in-law Keith D. Davis.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Brooks of Monticello, Indiana; his children, Tracey McCormick (Bryan Nitcher) of Austin, Indiana and Chad Brooks of Delphi, Indiana; his grandchildren, Gatlin Phelps of Lafayette, Emily Phelps of Delphi, Ava May McCormick of Austin, Cody Brooks of Lafayette and Jocelyn Brooks of Monticello, Indiana; his great grandchildren, Rowan Phelps and Brylyn Henke; his brothers, Rex "Bub" Brooks (Stacey) of Monticello and Wayne Brooks (Cheryl) of Michigantown, Indiana; and his sister-in-law Nancy Davis of Headlee, Indiana. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Deibels Funeral Home (601 Gordon Rd, Monticello, IN 47960). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Deibels Funeral Home of Monticello (601 Gordon Rd, Monticello, IN 47960). A burial will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 2:15 PM at the Indian Creek Cemetery.
