He was predeceased by: his father Darrell Burton; and his stepfather Donald Alvin Pitts. He is survived by: his mother Patricia Pitts (Hughes); his wife Christie Kerby; his children, Bobbie Simmons (Andy) of Attica, Joshua Turner of Lafayette and Tricia Turner (Ryan Gard) of Lafayette; and his siblings, Beth Ann Solis (Roger) of Monticello, Regina Lynn Rhodes (Doug) of Decatur, IL and J. R. Burton (Diana) of Anderson. He is also survived by three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
