He was predeceased by: his parents, Bruce Ervin and Martha Ervin (Coatney); and his siblings, Charles Ervin and Frances Logan. He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Ervin; his children, Angela McBride (Joe) of Lafayette, IN, Stacie Phillips (Jim) of Carmel, IN, Mandy Justice (Craig) of Rensselaer, IN and James Schnelle Jr. of Rensselaer, IN; and his siblings, Gerald Ervin (Edith) of South Bend, IN, Karen McAffee of Frostproof, FL, Norma Jean Nichols of Oklahoma and Sally Boozer (Brad) of Texas. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer (250 N McKinley Ave, Rensselaer, IN 47978). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
