Though Jan may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Jan touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald A. Darnstaedt and Arlene R Darnstaedt (Peters); and her spouse Harrel Elliott. She is survived by: her son John "JP" Ochs (Megan) of Colorado Springs, CO; her brother John Darnstaedt (Joyce) of Monticello; her grandsons, Colton and Dean; and her niece Jillian Cornelius (Phillip) of Indianapolis.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home (202 S Illinois St, Monticello, IN 47960). A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be given to Monticello United Methodist Church.
