It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Phyllis Hitner of Monticello, Indiana, who passed away on April 23, 2026, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Phyllis Hitner to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Corns and Edna Corns (Tesmer); her husband Jack; her son John Craig Hitner; her siblings, Glenda Gerhart and Mark Corns; and her close friends, Lee and Dick Cronch.
She is survived by: her daughter Lisa R. Armstrong (Gary); her grandsons, Jonathan and Tyler Armstrong; and her great grandchildren, Kohen, Lauren and Pearl Armstrong.
A graveside service was held on Friday, May 1st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Riverview I. O. O. F. Cemetery (1441 E Riverview Rd, Monticello, IN 47960).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are encouraged to Almost Home Humane Society or to Happy Tails.
