Though Vickie may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Ronald Lee and Fossie McElroy (Willoughby); and her husband Roger Abernathy.

Visitation was held on Monday, September 15th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home (202 S Illinois St, Monticello, IN 47960). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 16th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
