She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Cowden and Ada Cowden (Vanderploeg); her former husband Robert "Bob" Duhamell; her husband Robert E. York; her son Jesse E. Duhamell; her stepdaughters, Sandy Duhamell and Kandy Dillon; and her grandson Andrew St. John.
She is survived by: her children, Angela M. Smith of Morgantown and Robert L. "Bobby" Duhamell (Jo) of Franklin; her sister Laura Jane Brzeski of Morgantown; her stepson Randy Duhamell (Jean) of Auburn; her grandchildren, Shelby Smith-Martin (Chase), Crystal Hardiman (Brock), Josh Dillon, Brandon Duhamell, Elizabeth Park, Riley Duhamell, Adon Hudson and Preston Crooke (Celeste); her great grandchildren, Maxwell, Audrey, Wesley, Makenzie, Xavier, Hadlee, Deacon, James, Mia and Meleah; her great great grandchild Aubrielle; her nephew Thomas Brezeski (Estrella); and her cousin Robert Vanderploeg. She is also survived by her brother; many beloved nieces and nephews; and several close friends.
Marie requested that, in lieu of flowers, a love offering be made to support her daughter, Angela Smith, who lovingly and tirelessly cared for her for the past 23 years, or that memorial contributions be made in Marie's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to the Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
