He was predeceased by : his parents, Jacob and Ida; his wife Wanda Schutte; and his siblings, George Amberger, Rosie Luers, Catherine Wells and Mary Johnson.

He is survived by : his children, Jane Amberger of Batesville, Tina Austin of Batesville, Mike Amberger of Batesville and Jake Amberger (Layla) of West Lafayette, Indiana. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
