He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Houston and Lucille Houston (Rogers); his wife Helen Hatfield; and his siblings, Bob Houston, Mary Ann Hadley and Bonnie Hinchman.
He is survived by: his children, Wayne Houston (Dawn) of Freeport, Nicholas Abney (Donna) of Burkesville, Bruce Abney of Franklin, Cindy Houston Evans of Greenfield and Ruth Dunlap of Clute, Texas. He is also survived by several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home (420 S State St, North Vernon, IN 47265). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Indiana Odd Fellows Cemetery (7490 Waverly Rd, Martinsville, IN 46151).
