He was predeceased by : his parents, Harold Clapp and Bonnie J. McVey (Davis); his former life partner Janet Lynn Hough; his wife Maggie Morton; and his nephew Brady Kincade.

He is survived by : his children, Robert Clapp (Rebecca) of Sulphur Springs, Rodney Clapp of Greenfield and Monica Clapp of Acton; his siblings, Harold "Bud" Clapp of Bloomington, Illinois and Kathy Kincade of Morristown; his grandchildren, Austin Clapp (Kacie), Tate Clapp, Dyllan Clapp, Marissa Clapp, Evan Clapp and Addelynn Widner; and his great grandchild Kacin. He is also survived by three nephews.
