He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Rutledge and Mary Rutledge (Harris); his wife Carolyn "Sue" Rutledge; and his siblings, Pam Cremeens, Charlotte Yates, Nina Dartt and Henry F. Rutledge.

He is survived by: his children, Tony Rutledge (Kristina), Tracy Rutledge (Veronica), Troy Rutledge and Suzanne McHugh (Dwayne); and his grandchildren, Gregory Rutledge, Drew Rutledge, Kyle Stone, Christina Goodrich, Brandin Rutledge, Justin Rutledge, Hunter Rutledge, Savannah Bertoncin, Jarod McHugh, Mercedes Hanks and Lexus Rutledge. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Harvestime Temple (101 Roosevelt Dr, Mt Vernon, IN 47620). A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
