It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Dorothy Pope of Mount Vernon, Indiana, who passed away on September 15, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Dinn and Mayme Dinn (Huff); her husband Ernest Dale "Tadpole" Pope; her children-in-law, Dru King, Rich Hollis and Sabra Pope; and her siblings, Charles, George Dinn, Kay Nix and Charlotte Welton.
She is survived by: her children, Jeff Pope, Jim Pope, Lisa King and Trela Hollis; and her siblings, David Dinn (Charlotte), Steven Dinn, Luretta Pope and Mary Nickerson (Dave). She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Schneider Funeral Home (512 Main St, Mt Vernon, IN 47620). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 at the Saint John's Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help defray final expenses.
