He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Koning and Mary Elizabeth Koning (Fields); his wife Jacquelyn "Jackie" Dubes; his daughter Susan Kirts; and his brother Robert Koning.
He is survived by: his grandson Justin Kirts (Megan) of Lafayette; his great grandchildren, Harmony-Kay, Jaxson, Lainey Boone and Oakley Carter; and his siblings, Richard Koning of Lafayette and Donna Kelley.
