He was predeceased by: his parents, Kinsey Stewart and Anna Stewart; his wife Janice Stewart; and his siblings, John Stewart, Sandy Thompson and Judy Arnold.

He is survived by: his sons, Steven Stewart (Dee) and Jay Stewart; and his siblings, Ed Stewart and Loraine Anderson. He is also survived by two grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.
