He was predeceased by: his parents, Mark Kirklin and Edith Kirklin; his parents-in-law, Earl and Nila Dean Gibson; his son Jerry Kirklin; and his siblings, Edrafaun Black, Mildred Burford, Elizabeth Leeka, Oren Kirklin, George Masterson and John Masterson.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his daughter Cathy Coon; his grandchildren, Ryan Coon, Jami Soultz, Aaron Kirklin and Allison Kirklin; and his great grandchildren, Jegan Soultz, Alex Coon, Parker Coon and Riley Coon.
