He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Gillespie and Marie Gillespie; his wife Sue Ellen Hudson; his sister Beverly Safewright; and his daughter-in-law Joan Gillespie.
He is survived by: his children, Bret Gillespie of Indianapolis and Dawn Barr (Ernie) of Muncie; his grandchildren, Danielle Goodspeed (Ryan), Brianna Ollier (Patrick), Logan Gillespie and Jarod Gillespie; his great grandchildren, Gabriel, Elijah, Kinley and Kerrigan Goodspeed; and his siblings, Jackie Cook (Dave), Shellia Martin (Gary) and Rodney Gillespie.
