He is survived by: his sons, David II Coats (Kacie) of Muncie and Blake Coats (Rebecca) of Columbus, Indiana; his grandson David Coats III; his sister Tina Miller (Jack) of Muncie, Indiana; his nephew Mitchell Miller; and his nieces, Brittany Weber (Jordan), Maaike' Coats (DeShawna) and Jessica Scott (Taylor). He is also survived by six great-nephews; four great-nieces; as well as many cousins and friends.
