Dixie Diane Dalton Obituary

Dixie Diana Brown Dalton passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Morrison Woods Legacy Lanes. She was born June 16, 1932 in Muncie, Indiana, the daughter of Lewis Carl Brown and Sallie Juett Brown.

Dixie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. She was an active, lifelong member of South Side Church of the Nazarene in Muncie. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, puzzles, and playing games. She was a proud bearcat and 1950 graduate of Muncie Central High School. Dixie worked at First Merchants Bank for thirty years before retiring in 1994.

Survivors include daughter Jennifer Kurtz (husband Kent), Muncie; son-in-law David Dixon, Muncie; four grandchildren Brittany LiCalzi (husband Thomas), Alexandria, KY; Laken Pottorff (husband Greg), Carmel; Dalton Kurtz (wife Lauren), Muncie; Kelsey Campbell, Noblesville; five great-grandchildren Hudson, Kinley, and Anderson LiCalzi; Palmer and Collins Pottorff; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years James Howard Dalton, daughter Kimberly Dixon, great-grandson Gates Pottorff, parents Carl and Sallie Brown, sister Carleen Jeffers, and brother Fred Brown.

Services with be held on Monday, August 12, 2024 at 12pm with visitation two hours prior to the service at South Side Church of the Nazarene in Muncie.

Burial and graveside services will take place at Tomlinson Cemetery.

The family of Dixie would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Morrison Woods Legacy Lanes as well as Dr. Saber Bahrami and Dr. Yousuf Bahrami.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Project at South Side Church of the Nazarene, 3500 West Fuson Road, Muncie, IN 47302.
