He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hazelett and Hazel Hazelett (Johnson); and his brother Jerry Hazelett of Monrovia. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Buschart of St. Louis, Missouri.; his children, John Hazelett and Sherry Hazelett; and his grandchildren, Seth Hazelett, Jonah Hazelett, Blake Milner, Joella Hazelett Gleason and Brittney Milner Mennen.
In recognition for his contributions to the swine industry, Don received the Indiana Pork Producer's Distinguished Service Award in 1976.
