She was predeceased by: her parents, Ervin P. Chafin and Ruth N. Chafin; and her brother Gary Lee West. She is survived by: her husband Thomas Alonzo Staggs of Selma, IN; her children, David Thomas Staggs of Selma, IN and Amy Elizabeth Staggs of Austin, TX; her pets, Bongo and Gia of Selma, IN; her sisters, Carroll Surratt (Don) of Spartanburg, SC and Deborah Mercer (Harvey) of Muncie, IN; her brother-in-law Clint Staggs (Beth); and her nieces and nephews, Lauren, Dena of Muncie, IN, Denise Estep of Springfield, OH and Brian Mercer of Muncie, IN.
The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to organizations that were dear to her heart: The Liberty-Perry Alumni Association Scholarship Fund, and the Historical Society of Selma, 2100 North Valley Drive, Muncie, Indiana, 47304.
