He was predeceased by: his parents, John G. Buckles and Constance Buckles (Williams); his wife Sara Jane Harrell Buckles; and his siblings, Rosealys Thorndike Wilson and William Buckles.

He is survived by: his children, Becky Meiers of Anderson, IN, Cathy Alexander (Dan) of Muncie, Nancy Holes (Brad) of St. Charles, IL and Bob Buckles of Fishers, IN; his grandchildren, Don Lawson (Mary), Amelia Meiers, Cassie Alexander, Jack Alexander and Christa Holes; and his great grandchildren, Piers and Esme Lawson. He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.
